On Friday, March 5, 2010, Liz Hock Clark created the Facebook group entitled the
“Ironton High School Student & Staff Memorial Page”.
Her intentions were to create a place of honor for the departed souls of our classmates, teachers and other school staff members who have passed away. The group encourages posting of photographs, biographies and memoirs of loved ones, friends, family and fellow classmates that attended Saint Joseph or Ironton High School.

Until recently, Liz maintained lists of departed members and posted them to the group page periodically for members to view and make appropriate comments. As the lists grew, they became increasingly difficult to maintain and publish in text form where it was conveniently and reliably available.

On Wednesday, September 25, 2013, I became aware of the group, asked to join, and was admitted as a member by Liz. Although I was a “Johnny-come-lately” to the group, I offered to help, and with Liz’s permission, began to create spreadsheets as a way to organize the lists. The spreadsheets are the current methodology for viewing the lists of honored deceased class members. We are delighted to report that many favorable comments have been received concerning the group and the new delivery methodology. Additionally, we continued with plans to enhance the current method for delivering the lists.

We are introducing the next phase of delivery of the information. Now, anyone, a member of the group or not, can view the lists by visiting this website. Currently, we will be limited to displaying the information only. We will continue to accept notifications via the existing Facebook group as our primary means of input.

Similar to the current spreadsheets, the website will be updated monthly as information is discovered and notifications received. It is planned that additional functionally will be added to the site as time permits. We actively solicit your input of ideas as to what direction that new functionality may take. At this point, nothing, in terms of overall design, has been finalized.

Please, post your comments on the Facebook group page for consideration. By all means, please submit any additions, corrections, omissions or errors for modification of the information as appropriate. With your assistance, we will endeavor to maintain these honored records on behalf of the deceased, their family and friends and fellow classmates.
